Welcome to the website of Bakewell Choral Society

We are a long-established local choir with a growing membership, sharing a passion for music from a variety of eras, performing four concerts every year and holding weekly rehearsals, from the beginning of September to after our Summer Concert in June. We rehearse on Mondays at 7.15 p.m. in Bakewell Methodist Church.

FORTHCOMING CONCERTS

See the What’s On section for forthcoming concerts, which start at 7.30pm unless otherwise stated.

We would warmly welcome any local singers to come along and join us (guests just for this concert welcome) singing HAYDN’S CREATION in our Autumn Term. Rehearsals are at Bakewell Methodist Church on Monday evenings, 7.15p.m. - 9.30p.m. and the first rehearsal is on Monday 2nd September.

Our performances cover a range of musical genres from Renaissance to contemporary works, often involving orchestral accompaniment. We employ professional soloists and support from other singers across the county, including local school children.

Most important to us is our enjoyment of singing and sharing that combined love of music with our warm and appreciative audiences across the county and the Peaks.

We would love to welcome you to one of our concerts; please take a moment to view our calendar of performances and we look forward to seeing you there.

Rehearsals
